These metric washers are designed to distribute the load evenly under bolt or screw heads and nuts during fastening. Additionally, they can be used as spacers to adjust the spacing between components.

Steel washers possess superior strength and wear resistance when compared to stainless steel washers. However, steel washers that lack plating or coating are suitable only for dry environments because they are prone to rust when exposed to moisture. To prevent rust, zinc-plated steel washers come with a protective outer layer of zinc that shields the inner steel from corrosion and enhances its lifespan. Although these washers are tougher and boast greater wear resistance than stainless steel washers, they do not have the same corrosion resistance. It's best to use them in wet environments while avoiding contact with chemical substances or saltwater. Zinc-aluminum coated, and black ultra-corrosion-resistant coated steel washers are highly corrosion resistant and impervious to chemical substances. They both offer excellent protection from salt spray for up to 1,000 hours. With its glossy black semi-finish the ultra-corrosion-resistant coated steel washers are an elegant and robust option.
